Bangkok: 30 June, 2020: The crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has had wide-ranging impacts as a truly global crisis. Central Group has created a strategy of Rebuild Thailand Rebuild Economy leveraging the company's potential of integrated assistance to rebuild the economy and society under basic needs in 3 dimensions, which are:

  1. Creating occupations and enhancing incomes. The goal is to provide sales space for growers and small producers at 106 shopping plazas in 44 provinces, generating income of 3.5 billion baht in 2020. Moreover, Central Group purchase agricultural produce and other products worth 1.5 billion baht from farmers and communities representing 30,000 households
  2. Reducing the cost of living. Reducing prices on over 3,000 consumer product lines, while locking the price of 23,000 lines for a period of 90 days.
  3. Promoting Health. Safety and hygiene measures in all shopping centers. Central Group also provides medical equipment and budgets totaling 100 million baht.

In creating occupations and boosting incomes, Central has initiated the "Ruamjai Market" project which brings together interesting products from communities, growers and SMEs from around the country. The selling is done in a Local Market Omni-Channel format, with both support for sales space in shopping centers totalling 88,000 square metres, at 106 centers in 44 provinces, and including the Central Group's Online Market Platform.

The official launch of "Ruamjai Market" will be on 2-5 July, 2020 on Level 1, Eden, at CentralWorld, which will bring together over 100 items, growers and small producers for the public to shop, with a plan to extend the event to other provinces until December 2020.

Central Group has also provided free space for producers to sell nationwide through various channels including booths and online. At present, over 500 operators have applied to join. Details of the registration process are available via www.centraltham.com/taladruamjai until this December.
