Central Group – Thailand’s giant retail conglomerate announced management changes to move forward as a truly world-class organization in support of business expansions – Thailand, Internationally and Digitally.


Mr. Tos Chirathivat, Executive Chairman and CEO of Central Group, shared that Central Group continues to grow at a rapid pace – sales this year are expected to grow by more than 20%.  And in the coming future, Central Group sees big investment opportunities in neighborhood countries especially Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao, and Myanmar who are members of CLMV group, as well as in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Moreover, with the internet and online technology, retail market boundaries are global, Central Group has planned to step up and ride along this digital trend with e-commerce, omni-channel, and Marketplace strategies to provide better and seamless customers experience.


To support exciting future growth plans, Central Group has strengthened top management team by adding outstanding professionals at Group level in various key positions. The Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Yol Phokasub as President of Central Group, effective October 1st, 2016, reporting to Mr. Tos Chirathivat.  Prior to joining Central Group, Mr. Yol was President of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB). His strength lies in his ability to integrate consumer product market knowledge from his leadership experiences in the former role at Unilever Thailand to lead SCB to become number one in retail banking field.


In addition, Central Group has recently appointed many new key top management positions. Mr. Nicolo Galante, former Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company, serves in the position of Chief Operating Officer of Central Group.  Mr. Chanitr Charnchainarong, former Executive Vice President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand and former President of market for alternative investment (mai), has been appointed Senior Executive Vice President of Corporate Development.   Mr. Stewart Stemple, previously Global Director of Talent and Development for The Coca-Cola Company, together with Ms. Wimolmart Kuekomoldej, formerly the CFO for Central Hardlines Group and a prior head of HR for Central Retail Corporation, have been appointed Co-Heads of Central Group Corporate Human Resources.


Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul, the former Governor of the Bank of Thailand, joined as a Senior Advisor for Central Group since July 2016.
