“9th Million Gifts Million Smiles” Sharing dreams and smiles with gifts from the heart to double the happinessin
Central Group Executive Director Pichai Chirathivat talked about the company’s intention to create good projects for the children. “Children and the youth are the future of the country’s development. In Thailand, there is still a large number of underprivileged children affected by the troubles in the three southern border provinces. Besides developing quality education and good nutrition, giving hope to these children is just as important. Central Group, as a company dedicated to bringing happiness to Thai society for over 71 years, has joined the Royal Thai Army for the activity Million Gifts Million Smiles. This is giving gifts from the heart for children’s smiles and hopes, as part of CENTRAL Tham, Central Group’s main project of social responsibility. Million Gifts Million Smiles is being held for the ninth successive year on the theme of Sharing Dreams and Smiles.
This is because we believe that every time we share, we are making dreams come true and doubling smiles. We are dedicated to give very special gifts to children and young people in the three border provinces – Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, as well as 4 districts in Songkhla – Chana, Na Thawi, Thepha and Saba Yoi. We are inviting the general public, the state sector, the private sector and our business partners to give new gifts which have never been used, such as bicycles, educational equipment, sports equipment and stationery. The gifts received will be divided up and transported by the Army, before being delivered to the children for New Year’s and Children’s Day to bring the festival of happiness and giving to them, and bringing smiles to children’s faces again.
“The big launch ceremony for the 9th Million Gifts Million Smiles is attended by many celebrities such as Vituwat Angsananont, Juthathip Tiyavacharapong, Nisakorn Sihanatkathakul, Kemtida Osathapan, Anin Sirisuttinant, Vinee Rayananonda and stars of the hit drama Love by Chance, Min – Phiravich Attachitsataporn Title – Kirati Puangmalee and Plan – Rathavit Kijworaluk They will be giving support with activities such as presenting gifts, doll dressing and making Smile Photo Gift Cards, as well as writing on cards for the children.
“Along the way of the project, Million Gifts Million Smiles has brought together over 1.5 million gifts and brought happiness to at least 520,000 children who benefit from the big hearts of the Thai public and bodies from all sectors. Together they have created a huge caravan of gifts for the happiness of children at New Year’s and Children’s Day.”
General Theerawat Boonyawat, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army, said that, “the Army has cooperated with parties from all sectors who have given their support, whether the civil service, the private sector, the media, artists and celebrities, or the general public. We have together created happiness for children living in areas which have been affected by the troubles in the Southern Thailand border region. It is also giving an opportunity to the general public to participate in solving the problems of the South, and promoting generosity in society of being a ‘giver’. This will bring hope and moral support to children living in the southern border provinces to live their lives with happiness and be good members of society, ready to be a force in the further development of the country.”
