Central Group holds ‘The Greatest Grand Sale 2016’ campaign
Synergizes all business groups to support Thailand in becoming regional shopping hub
• Investing 100 million baht to boost shopping volumes, support economy and help tourism in middle of year

Bangkok: The Central Group is emphasizing its leadership of Thailand’s retailer and synergizing with 13 affiliated businesses to show strength by launching ‘The Greatest Grand Sale 2016’campaign, with 100 million baht in investment to boost purchasing power, the economy and tourism in the middle of the year. This will be the biggest mid-year sale and will offer over 10,000 product brands with special prices and promotions of up to 80% in discounts at all of the 64 branches of Central Group’s shopping centers nationwide from 3rd June-17th July 2016.
Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President of Marketing of Central Pattana plc (CPN) stated: “Central is emphasizing its image as the leader of group synergy, using the advantages of Central Group’s strength and our partners to support each other. Central Group and the 13 affiliated businesses came up with the concept of ‘Shop Champion’ to rouse the competitive instinct of shoppers to obtain quality products at special prices at the Central Group’s shopping centers. This will become a magnet that will help to boost the overall economy and also help tourism by attracting more purchasing power from both Thai and foreign customers.
Dr. Nattakit said: “Although spending is still stable, the current low inflation is good for product prices as well as the continuation of the government’s mega projects investment, which is affecting private sector investment and employment. This should make people more likely to shop when they find good promotions available, with quality products that are good value for money.
In addition to the interesting promotions launched to help boost Thai consumers’ spending, we also support tourism and attract tourists; this is our main industry so it is very important for the country’s economy to attract more tourists. From January-May 2016, the growth in tourism has increased by 15%. We are also focused on domestic spending and encourage foreign tourists to shop in Thailand.”

Mario Maurer, a Thai actor who is popular overseas (especially among Chinese fans), will be a presenter for this campaign to help promote this mid-year sales event. This year, CPN aims to increase its overall sales volume by 30% over last year’s sales and expects to increase Thai and foreign customer traffic by 30%.
The promotions during the campaign at CentralWorld, CentralPlaza and CentralFestival include: spend 7,500 baht and up on shopping at the shopping centers, get a free FILA bag and a discount coupon for online rewards valued at 100 baht when shopping at www.central.co.th. Customers of MasterCard credit card, Aeon Card, Toyota Motor, Siam Commercial credit card and Thai Life card get such privileges by spending only 6,500 baht and up on shopping, including on-top special offers. Throughout the campaign, customers may scan QR Codes on the media throughout the shopping centers in order to instantly receive free digital discount coupons for MK Restaurant, Chabuton, Hot Pot, The Pizza Company and Starbucks.
